Hi Richard just read the excellent interview (sabotage times) loved the wonderful and my shared opinion on the best disco in town award.. It also reminded me of an incident id almost totally forgotten . I refer to your involvement with Joy Division….I seem to recall going over to a pub with you somewhere around Clifton or Swinton to drop of some Sad Cafe copies of “every day hurts”…or “my oh my” to RCA label mates The Salford Jets. Whilst on the short journey you were playing me some tracks that you, and, I belive John Anderson were involved with at the time .If my memory serves me right .You was telling me an amusing anecdote regarding a track called “They walked in line” and how it had been misunderstood to be called “THEY WANTED LIME…..” Presumably with the Vodkas and or Lagers ….producing legendary bands is thirsty work.Cheers Richard , love n respect to you n Judith….Dave Molloy

Hi Dave
As always, your excellent recall serves you well!
It was an incident in the pub opposite Greendow studios after a Joy Division recording session- yes, not only did I finance the session but I bought the beer (lager and lime actually) as well!
Glad you liked the interview- it’s certainly had a phenomenal amount of hits and even Billboard magazine made contact with me!
Hope to see you soon – lots of our old friends from the Wigan days were out on the floor last night at the King Georges Hall…..
Keep in touch
Regards
