Just an update on tonight’s historic soul event….
Bobby arrived with his party of 14 musicians and backing singers at his hotel in rainy Lancashire at 10.45pm last evening.
Tired after a gruelling 6 hour coach journey from London but raring to go tonight at the King Georges Hall in Blackburn!
People are travelling to this one from all around the UK and Europe and it promises to be a night to remember, especially as it’s the final night of his tour.
You can pay at the door from 7 pm (£30 standing, £35 seated) and the after-show party rolls on until 3 am with THREE rooms of Soul, Jazz Funk and Northern /Motown!
Last minute planners call : 01254 582582
Bobby takes to the stage at 8pm prompt.

Hi Richard,
What a fantastic evening last night. Just wanted to say thank you for bringing Bobby back to the northwest.I first saw Bobby in Berlin in the late 80s and have followed him ever since. It was soo nice to see him in Blackburn and even though he was a little unsteady on his feet(bless him) he was in good voice and balled me over!. Thanks once again.
..and I am glad Ihave found your blog!

Hi Helen
So good to hear from you and so pleased that you enjoyed last night.
I don t think any of us could have expected such a heartfelt show from our hero.
It took everyone by surprise including all his family who said they thought the crowd played a big part in lifting Bobby to give such a phenomenal performance when doctors advice is – don t go to England!
He is truly an inspiration to us all.
Kind regards
Richard

Richard, a wonderful last night, one that will live for ever. Bobby performed to the max of his great abilities, he was out on his feet by the end. He simply is The Master.
Great DJi’ng from you… you’re The Master DJ of course.
Finally, it was great to meet you and chat briefly with you in Blakley’s. I was stunend that you remembered I once met Lamont Dozier. Did i ever tell you that I sang a few lines from ” I can’t get off” to him and he simply laughed and said, “Man… you know THAT one!!!
Wonderful night Richard. Thanks for all that you did to enable it.

Hi Will
Really good to meet you on Saturday and glad you witnessed Bobby’s incredible show.
I think we are all still pinching ourselves to ensure it was nt just a dream!
I ve never seen an artist get so close with his audience and I m sure that Bobby’s recent health scare (and the love coming back from the auditorium) made him cherish every second he spent with us in Blackburn.
That’s a lovely story about Lamont also .
Take care and hope to see you again soon.

Hi Steve
Glad it made your long journey worthwhile – the “belt” thang was almost a major issue, but thankfully not one but three kind souls came to the rescue!
The fact that we are still trying to locate the belts is beside the point!
Kind regards
Richard

Hi Richard,
Have waited a while to add my comments about Bobby Womack, Altrinna Grayson and all the band at last Saturdays King Georges Hall-just to come down of my cloud-but its not happened yet!!!
There have been many comments about the night so its difficult to put something new and original that hasn`t already been expressed.
For me the concert was the best thing I`ve ever been privileged to go to.A night I thought would never happen and a dream come true.
Bobby Womack has been my all-time soul music hero,he came to Blackburn and gave a very personal touching performance that could not have been bettered-a legend that I can only hope will return one day,and I hope I`m fortunate enough to be there to see him when he does!
As you said previously, it could be one of the best nights of my life-it definitely was!!!!
Thankyou again for all your efforts Richard, and to the efforts of everyone involved in making such a memorable night happen.
p.s there are some clips on youtube of the night -awesome!

Hi Jaci
Many thanks for your heartfelt appraisal of the Bobby Womack “event”.
So many things about being a promotor can get one down, and sometimes we wonder why we bother..
I think both myself and the team at the KGH could write a book about the events leading up to, during and after this show!
Suffice to say that heartfelt comments like these from yourself, ensure that we know it was all worthwhile and that gives us the strength to do it all over again!
Thanks once again to yourself for the initiative you displayed in contacting me so we could make it happen.
Best wishes
Richard
