On behalf of both myself and Neil, thanks to everyone who supported our very first “Summer in the Parks” soul All Dayer at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa , Clayton-le-Moors , Lancashire on Sunday July 31st.
Over 600 attended , with 300+ staying over until Monday morning .
We are now lining up the next All Dayer event at this splendid venue and details will be advised as soon as possible.
In the meantime there is now confirmed a Northern and Motown and 60s/70s Crossover Soul night being held at the hotel on Saturday October 29th - 2 rooms.
DJs are myself, Ginger, Roman, Des Jones, Ian Gillibrand, Glyn Thornhill and Ged Lunt.
Once again there is a very special £50 PER ROOM “Soul Stop over” rate in effect for this event if you contact the venue on 01254 303400 stating “Soul”.
Admission to the night itself is just £6.00 , pay on the door.

Fantastic venue and a great day out. Enjoyed the Parkers revival which brought back a lot of memories and the Expansion slot by Ralph Tee showcased the label to great effect.
Already looking forward to the next one.
PS – In my drunken stupor I mislaid the Parkers flyer with the tunes you could tick as a request. Is there any way you can post them on here?

Yeah me and the Little Lady had a smashing time and met some really cool people.
Think we were amongst the last to bed chatting until 3!
Wondering if anyone has posted any pics from the event anywhere?

Hi David
Glad you both enjoyed it – maybe I should start to think about engaging a photographer for my events as this one would certainly have been ideal to look back on at such a gorgeous venue.
We should be announcing details of the next All Dayer there in the near future.
Kind regards

hi we were at King Georges hall last night and had a great night. Would love to come to this event, but can’t get there til about 9.30 pm, as its pay on the door do you think we would struggle getting in if it gets full ?

Hi Lesley
Thanks for getting in touch – and I m pleased to hear that you enjoyed the King Georges Hall Wigan Anniversary celebrations on Saturday.
We had a really good turnout in all 3 rooms and the North West should be proud of this event.
The love shown to Tommy from the adoring crowd was awesome too!
The Dunkenhalgh on Saturday October 29th IS going to be busy , but please do not worry, you will be OK arriving at 9.30pm as far as admission goes – not sure if there’ll be any chairs left by that time though:-)
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Best regards
Richard

Hi Lesley
So am I !
It was the busiest Wigan Anniversary at The King Georges for a long time and over 1,200 were in the place on Saturday night!
Tommy has lost none of his magic and to see the floor packed to all the songs he performed was awesome!
I ll be announcing some great new events shortly to take place in 2012 , so watch this space and I ll look forward to seeing you at the Dunkenhalgh Northern and Modern Soul night on Saturday October 29th which looks like being another packer!
Kind regards
