With two goals beautifully crafted by Dawson starting things off, and then a combination of the efforts messrs Assou-Ekotto, Gomes and finally Bassong, we created four memorable finishes that the opposition must have loved watching.
Judging by Redknapp’s stupid team selection, it was quite clear that the club had no intention of letting a decent performance result in progression to play either Wigan or Bolton. Why else would you, on an almost unplayable surface, elect to field a team of mini-players who can only get it down and pass it?
Dawson’s dismissal must have been especially galling for him personally as it denied him his first hat-trick for the club…the way he was playing it would surely have not been long coming.
Our next opponents, Blackburn, Bolton and Sunderland will also be gutted that he will not be around to face them, giving them that vital advantage of a 12th man.
Only 27 hours to go until the window slams shut…and now with Keane, O Hara and Townsend now gone…..I ll get myself a blank piece of paper and see how Harry is going to manage to fill his 25-man squad for the next 15 games……although I m pretty sure that he can only now do that by including 3 keepers (none of whom are anywhere near good enough) and with the “on paper” inclusion of embarrassing crocks like King and Woodgate ….and even then he will be struggling.
I do hear that Daniel has Jose’s home number …….stranger things have happened, watch this space!

And here’s what you could have won, a home draw against either us or those from Horwich. If I was Redknapp I probably would have given up at that prospect as well.
Also Phil Neville?

Hi Sean
Mr Redknapp has got it badly wrong , leaving us woefully short now for the remainder of this season.
We have just 21 players left including 3 goalkeepers!
I doubt very much he will still be there at the end of May.
Good point for your boys at The Throstles last night.
Kind regards
Richard

Should have been all three, our remarkable habit of not killing teams off came back to haunt us again. I’m probably resigning myself to relegation now but after six years of punching above our weight I can’t really complain.
With a young manager who wants to play the right way, a young side full of heart and potential a return to the Championship may not be the worst thing that could happen.
I’m suprised with the funds available that he has left you so short, couldn’t understnad the bid for Charlie Adam for one couldn’t see him fitting into the Spurs side but secondly why leave it to so late in the window if he really wanted the player.
As for Redknapp I wouldn’t be suprised if he’s installed as England manager before Euro 2012 depending on the next few results under senor Cappello.
Sean.
